Greubel Forsey GMT Earth & Différentiel d’Égalité watch
SIHH 2018 was the first major show of the year, and Greubel Forsey had two new watches to show off. The first – the replica Greubel Forsey GMT Earth – is an updated version of the brand’s iconic GMT watch. The second – the Greubel Forsey Différentiel d’Égalité – has a constant force mechanism and is the brand’s first watch with a jumping seconds function. Let's take a quick look at them now, starting with the GMT Earth.
Greubel Forsey GMT Earth is only available in white gold and, as I mentioned earlier, is an updated version of their GMT watch. You know, crazy watch with a sloping 24-second tourbillon and a real spinning globe on the dial? The case diameter is 45.5mm and the case height is 16.18mm, making the GMT Earth a chunky watch. In terms of sophistication and functionality, GMT Earth is identical to the original GMT. What has changed, however, are some aesthetic details on the dial, most importantly the globe. The Earth on GMT Earth is now fully visible from the North Pole to the South Pole.
Achieving this goal was no easy task, and Greubel Forsey needed to apply everything it knew about applying sapphire crystal to a movement. The end result, at least judging from the press photos, seems worthwhile, as a fully exposed Earth brings a greater sense of drama and air. Elsewhere, the GMT Earth has all the same features and complications as the original GMT wholesale replica watches. The time is displayed on an off-centre dial, with a sub-dial for the second time zone on the left. A spinning globe sits below the GMT sub-dial and can be used to quickly (roughly) tell the time anywhere in the world. Finally, in the lower right corner of the dial is the 24-second tourbillon and power reserve indicator.

Turn the watch and you can now see the bottom of the globe, and you still have the useful 24-city world time dial, which shows the time in 24 time zones. The disc even has handy indicators to show which cities observe daylight saving time. Like all other Greubel Forsey watches, the GMT Earth is extremely polished. For example, the GMT pusher at 10 o'clock has a raised engraving on a hand-punched background. The main plate of the movement is made of nickel-silver with a matte and polished bevel. Likewise, the bridges are frosted and bevelled and given a special nickel-palladium treatment. The tourbillon bridges are finished in a flat black finish, which is extremely laborious and difficult to complete. This is just some finishing touches on GMT Earth.
The second watch is a new watch from Greubel Forsey, called Différentiel d'Égalité. As the name suggests, it contains a constant force mechanism. The idea here is that when the mainspring unwinds, it charges the auxiliary spring, which releases energy to the escapement in consistent pulses, maintaining a constant balance amplitude through the watch's power reserve. As a result, Greubel Forsey was able to incorporate a jumping seconds complication into a watch - a first for the brand. Like the GMT Earth, the Différentiel d'Égalité is only available in a white gold case. With a case diameter of 44mm and a case height of 15.30mm, the Différentiel d'Égalité (like most other Greubel Forsey watches) is quite a replica luxury watches.
The dial of the Différentiel d'Égalité is much simpler. Your main hour and minute hands are in the center of the dial, the secondary seconds are between 4 and 5 o'clock, and the power reserve indicator is at 1 o'clock. There is a large cutout at the bottom left of the dial, showing the constant force mechanism as well as the non-jump seconds mechanism. Deadbeats are also smart. Since no-jump seconds allow the owner to set and read the time precisely, Greubel Forsey has added a hacking and zeroing mechanism to no-jump seconds. The jumpless seconds hand automatically jumps to zero when you set the time, allowing users to easily set the watch to reference atomic time.
The Greubel Forsey Différentiel d’Égalité is equipped with a 359-part hand-wound movement with a power reserve of 60 hours. The movement is engraved with reliefs on the mainplate and bridges, polished bevels and gemstones, as well as on components such as the barrel.
Finally, GMT Earth is a welcome update to one of Greubel Forsey's iconic creations, while the new Différentiel d'Égalité is an elegant interpretation of a highly technical and functional complication. I think both watches should be well-received by watch collectors with deep pockets and a taste for high-end timepieces.replica Devon Thread 1 Watches
